RADM Peter Booth Luncheon

RADM Peter Booth, author of "Humble in Victory" and "True Faith and Allegiance", Speaks at Chapter Luncheon

RADM Peter B. Booth visited the Chapter at the January luncheon and presented an rousing overview of his books "Humble in Victory" and "True Faith and Allegiance".

Peter said that his idea for "Humble in Victory" came from a conceptualized year 2010 Iran/Iraq/Afghanistan conflict to capture and control the Caspian Sea oil reserves, some of the richest in the world.  And, of course, it was the United States Navy to the rescue!  Readers have called the book a "top-notch yarn", a "great read" with "great sea stories and action", with a "frighteningly plausible plot"!  Though written in 2001, nearly 90% of what Peter proposed in his fictitious plot has actually come to pass.  After some great advice from the Naval Institute, and subsequent rewrites by Peter, he finally ended up self-publishing the book.

His latest book "True Faith and Allegiance" was created from stacks of notes and letters that he wrote during his years of service and compiled at the time primarily for his daughters.  One day he realized that the amount of information he had would be more than enough for another book!

Many thanks to RADM Booth and his lovely wife Carolyn for visiting with us.  Thanks also to Bill Rentz '55 for arranging the visit.
