Offers of appointments to USNA are strong this year.  To date, 12 Georgia students have accepted their offers to USNA and another 11 have been given offers but have not yet responded as to whether they are going to accept.  We currently have 8 students who have accepted Naval Academy Prep School (NAPs) and 2 that have accepted a USNA Alumni Association Foundation Scholarship.

There is a lot going on in the state that Blue & Gold Officers (BGOs) are involved in:

  • Superintendent Rempt’s luncheon at the1420 Room on Tuesday, April 11th

  • Blue Angels air show at NAS Atlanta on the April 29/30 weekend

  • Statewide Senatorial/Congressional Academy Day on Saturday, May 6th

Superintendent’s luncheon:  We have invited the students who have been given offers to USNA, NAPs and Foundation to the luncheon.  In addition, we have a large number of BGOs that will be attending, military coordinators for both senators and four congressmen, and 12 educators from schools in the Atlanta area.  This event is open to all USNA grads and interested parties.  If you want to attend and haven’t send a reservation in yet, you can e-mail me at cindymiller@1990.usna.edu.  The cost is $14 per person and it is at the 1420 Room in Dunwoody (www.1420room.com).

Blue Angels:  We are going to have a USNA booth at the Blue Angels’ air show the weekend of April 29/30.  If you would like to help, please send me an e-mail at cindymiller@1990.usna.edu.

Academy Day:  The statewide academy day is going to be on Saturday morning at NAS Atlanta on May 6th.  If you know of an interested underclassman, please have them go to Senator Isakson's website http://isakson.senate.gov/academy-day.htm.  The deadline to register is April 26th at 5pm.  If they do not register, they will not be allowed in the gate due to security reasons.

If you know of a current junior that is not familiar with the Blue & Gold officer that is assigned to their school, please send me an e-mail with the name of the student, their school and the e-mail address of the student if possible.  The applications for the Summer Seminar are over but we can still get them working with their BGO.
