September 2001 President's Corner
Bob Schultz '71, USNAAA Atlanta Chapter PresidentCHAPTER SECRETARY POSITION VACANT As some of you are aware, Joe Solymossy ‘68, our current Chapter Secretary has just retired from Inpo and moved out of state. That leaves the Chapter with a vacant Board of Directors position. This is an important position that keeps the Chapter running smoothly. We need someone to step forward and assume the responsibilities of this position. The primary job responsibilities are as follows:
(Note that you do not need to be an “author” or sorts to handle tasks 3 and 4. Most of the input is authored by others, and there is a standard template that is used to create the newsletter. Board meetings are held the Tuesday evenings before the third Friday in each month. They are held at the home of Jim Ravenel '45 in Roswell (on Holcomb Bridge Road just a bit East of Highway 400). The primary qualifications for the Secretary position, as I see them, are:
A Chapter Board position carries with it some distinct advantages that become quite valuable over time. I have been officially involved with the Chapter for over 5 years now and can tell you that it is one of the best decisions that I have made since I have lived in Atlanta. It provides not only great personal satisfaction, but also pays great benefits from the standpoint of personal visibility among the hundreds of USNA alumni working in various industries throughout the Atlanta area. Fellow alumni, this is an organization staffed and run by a handful of volunteers in their spare time. We need someone to step up to the plate and become one of the few, but critical, links in the chain. If you have a desire to serve the Chapter in this capacity, or would like to discuss the position responsibilities in greater detail, please contact me directly via phone or e-mail.
