Navy 19 - Army 9About 80 Naval Academy Alumni and friends gathered at Sidelines Sports Bar & Grill in Marietta on December 4th, 1999 to watch Navy win the 100th meeting of Navy and Army on the football field. Navy got on the board first with third classman Brian Madden, our option quarterback, running the ball in for a touchdown from several yards out. From there Navy never looked back, leading the contest the entire way. In only his fifth start since taking over from injured starting quarterback Brian Broadwater, Madden rushed for 177 yards, his fifth consecutive 100+ yard rushing game!. First classman Tim Shubzda was responsible for the rest of Navy's scoring with four field goals! The Mids looked strong throughout, with error-free offense, great defense (causing four turnovers), and great spirit. Let's say it again, with feeling... GO NAVY ! - BEAT ARMY !
